Chapter 1347

The racket in the hospital drew a nurse in. She swung open the door wearing a displeased expression. “What’s with all the racket? Patients need peace, you know?”
Raul’s hand shot up, pointing around, as he said, “Perfect timing! Can we boot these people out pronto?!”
The nurse eyed Raul, rolling her eyes. “May I remind you that this is a private hospital. If you want to make a scene, please take it outside! If you continue to cause a disturbance, I’ll call security right away!”
But Raul wouldn’t let up and kept on hollering about changing rooms.
With things getting wild, the nurse rang up hospital security to escort Raul out.
The room hushed, letting Trent turn to Bagot.
He put his phone to his ear, telling Hannah on the line, “It looks like Mr. Delgado’s still rough. I doubt we’ll get anything today. With Raul’s blowup and all this chaos, Mr. Delgado won’t be saying anything now.”
After a pause on the line, Hannah decided, “Pass him the phone. I would like to have a few words with him.”
“Okay.”

down today at the racetrack, with young Mr. Juarez in an accident. It looks like foul play. Do you have any thoughts, Mr. Delgado?”

Hannah’s voice softened on the phone. “But it’s likely unrelated to your attacker. Roland’s at the hospital too. He’s not in bad shape.”
After a pause, Bagot started slowly, “Sorry about my dad’s behavior earlier. He was here, so I didn’t want to talk about that night.”
“I get it. It’s up to you if you want to talk about it or not. There is no pressure.”
“I’m willing to share this with you.”
Bagot then said, “I’m just worried my dad will get too worked up if I talk about it.”
Bagot rubbed his forehead, clearly pained as he replayed yesterday’s events. “Actually… Some bits are fuzzy but one thing sticks out clear. As I swung open the door, I clocked the guy in a mask. It was a spooky one and it felt oddly familiar, Like deja vu! The mask was half blood-red and half pitch-black! I only caught the bloody side, and when he lunged at me with a knife, I didn’t catch much else as his face was covered.”
Hannah paused, the mask description ringing a bell for her too.
She squinted. “If that masked man showed up again, would you recognize him?”
